I was wondering why we don't just treat comments as elements themselves, and declare and use them in the XML documents we produce. Wouldn't this then allow us to create DTDs and stylesheets that extract, sort, filter comment content just as we can any other content.
It seems like comments are valuable content, just as valuable, and perhaps more so, than many of the other content elements our businesses create. Why shouldn't we structure our comments and make them valuable for our business. It seems such an approach would be looked upon favorably because it could help uncover problems, allow for better management of resources, make the case for funding when we need it, etc.
I'd love to know your thoughts. If it's something you could write about and need to demonstrate it, I'd be happy to participate.
Cheers,
Scott Abel
