I just guessed at the new syntax and it worked with Saxon: Second item in tokenizedSample: {<xsl:value-of select="$tokenizedSample[2]"/>} Tenth item in tokenizedSample: {<xsl:value-of select="$tokenizedSample[10]"/>} Bob
